Scripture Reading: Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1-11
Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan River in order to publicly identify with the Kingdom that is marked by repentance and heart change. Later, Jesus commands his own disciples to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in order to identify with him as Lord and outwardly signify a real inner change.
