Scripture Reading: Isaiah 53; Luke 24:13-35; Romans 10:17; Ephesians 1:17-20
The risen Jesus walked alongside two disciples on their way home from a devastating weekend in Jerusalem. Jesus died and their hopes died with him, so they thought. But Jesus surprised them by explaining how the Scriptures foretold all that had happened. And that was before they recognized him when he broke bread at the table.
